Lampião and his cangaceiros sang parraxaxá during the intervals of the fights against the policy. It was their "shout of war". After the confrontations, they used to eat paçoca, macaxeira, charque, tapioca and other specialities to restitute the energies. Nowadays, we don't have cangaceiros anymore, but you can eat their food at Parraxaxá Restaurant.

charque - meat of cow, salty and cured under the sun.
tapioca - cake of macaxeira flour with coconut or cheese.
